Penang STEM Vacation

Penang has long been renowned as the most popular tourist destination in Malaysia for many decades, famed for its beaches, hill resort and other unique attractions.

Its blend of Eastern and Western influences (mainly because it was part of the British colony until 1957) truly reflects a melting pot of culture and traditions from different ethnic groups.

Penang retains its old-world charm through its many well-preserved heritage buildings which are complemented by the wide array of street food which has been passed down through generations. This has led to the listing of its capital, George Town, as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 and added a new dimension to its charm and allure.

Penang also established the Free Industrial Zone more than 40 years ago which attracted many big-name multinationals such as Intel, AMD and Hewlett Packard, earning Penang the moniker "Silicon Valley of the East".

To ensure the continuous development of a skilled workforce and a population that is scientifically and technologically literate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the fast-paced age of the Digital Economy and the 4th Industrial Revolution, Penang STEM was established as a common platform to bring together the various independent STEM learning organisations in a coordinated way to jointly create a synergistic ecosystem that complements the current formal education system. Penang STEM offers programmes/classes to cater to students for all age groups (primary schools, secondary schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities).
